ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Mark Ward and I have created this site to tell you about my experiences of buying and selling antiques/collectables.
The name olivegreenantiques is derived from, the combination of my late mom's name and the low carbon footprint of antiques.
I live in Stafford and travel the country, far and wide, in my search for stock. The main venues for my search are antique fairs, book fairs, and auction houses. As you can imagine I come across a wide range of characterful people, some eccentric, some insane, but mostly people with a passion and knowledge for their own niche in the antiques business.
My main place of sales is on ebay, where you can find my shop A and M Books, and at Foregat Street Emporium , in Stafford, where I sell from a couple of small units. The Emporium has about 50 individual sellers, and is a great place to search for that unique item or piece of furniture.
I try to keep my stock as reasonably priced as I can which means I have to hunt and haggle to pay the lowest price that can be achieved.
I find the whole matter of the hunt and, of the sale, exhilerating and satisfying. Also the ever changing trends of what will sell against the staple of what will always sell means my knowledge is ever gaining.
